Founding supporters

Founding supporters help establish the independence, infrastructure and governance of SOCii before any external funding, sponsorships or institutional partnerships are accepted.

Why we need early funding — and why we’re not taking grants or institutional money yet

What it means

If you give during the founding window, you are a founding supporter. You are helping to build SOCii’s operational and governance base at a time when we rely entirely on community support — no government grants, no corporate sponsors, no institutional partnerships. That early commitment is what allows us to set independence and transparency as non-negotiable before any later funding is considered.

How long the window lasts

The founding supporter window runs until SOCii accepts its first institutional partnership, sponsorship, or government funding — or for 24 months from the launch of this programme, whichever comes first. Donations made during this period qualify for founding supporter status. We will announce when the window is closed and will not backdate eligibility.

What recognition exists (opt-in)

All recognition is optional. You can give anonymously or decline any form of public acknowledgment. If you opt in, we can offer:

  • Founding supporter acknowledgement page

Your name (or “Anonymous”) listed on a dedicated founding supporters page, and in our annual impact materials, with your consent.

  • Named infrastructure components

Opt-in recognition on specific outputs: datasets, methodology reports, or product releases (e.g. “Supported by [Name]”). Subject to availability and mutual agreement.

  • Governance observer rights

Non-decision-making but visible: optional invitation to observe governance processes (e.g. board meetings, advisory discussions) so you can see how SOCii is run. Observers do not vote or bind SOCii.

Become a founding supporter

Donate during the founding window to qualify. After you give, you can contact us to opt in to recognition or to request observer rights — we’ll confirm what’s available and how it works.
