Evidence-based policy analysis and data-driven policy for Australia
Evidence-based policy analysis depends on open data, transparent methodology, and independent tools. SOCii builds civic technology that gives researchers and policymakers access to census data, housing policy data, and modelling — so policy debate is grounded in evidence, not ideology.
Evidence-based policy analysis means using rigorous data, transparent methods, and reproducible models to inform public decisions. In Australia, too much policy debate is driven by anecdotes, ideology, or data that isn’t open to scrutiny. SOCii builds independent tools so that data-driven policy is accessible to everyone — researchers, journalists, policymakers, and the public.
Our platforms support evidence-based policy in two key areas. A-GIC provides independent census research and Australian census data, so that demographic and civic data are available outside government timelines and control. AIM-HR provides housing policy data and transparent modelling for housing reform, so that supply, planning, and affordability can be analysed with open, auditable methods. Together, they support Australian civic data transparency and evidence-based policy analysis across census and housing.
We’re a not-for-profit with no political or commercial ties. Our only commitment is to open methodology, public benefit, and evidence-based policy analysis that serves Australians. Use our tools for your research, reporting, or policy work — and support our work so we can keep them free and independent.
